Hope for Jelome.
Jelome is an 18-month-old boy from Papua New Guinea who was born with multiple congenital anomalies, including a bilateral cleft palate, a severe form of spina bifida and fused fingers. These complex medical conditions have caused him pain and distress everyday of his young life—when he should be learning to walk, talk, and play.

Without urgent surgical intervention, Jelome faces a future of long-term disability and the very real risk of life-threatening brain injury. His brain is exposed through a hole in the roof of his mouth, and his spinal cord protrudes through an opening in his back. Even a minor bump or infection could be fatal.
Jelome’s parents live with constant fear. Every moment is filled with worry, knowing that the smallest accident could change their son’s life forever.
In Papua New Guinea, the specialised surgical care Jelome needs simply isn’t available. If Jelome had been born in Australia, he would have received surgery for each of these conditions shortly after birth. But for Jelome, that care is out of reach, unless we act now.

With your support, we can bring Jelome to Australia for the life-saving surgery he urgently needs.
Your donation will help cover the cost of a medical visa, return flights, and the highly specialised surgical and post-operative care required to give Jelome a chance at a healthy, happy life.
Together, we can help Jelome return home as a little boy with a bright future.
